Writing

Research, essays and the blog.

Research · The African linguistic landscape

Beyond client work, I research how meaning, law and institutional concepts travel across languages, and where they resist translation altogether. A particular focus is lexical gaps and untranslatability in West African languages: the points where one language has no single word for another's concept, and what those gaps reveal about how legal and cultural frameworks move between societies.

Speaking · Conferences & workshops

I speak and lead workshops on what it really takes to thrive as a language professional in multicultural international organisations, and on the practical realities of working alongside new translation technologies.

Teaching · Training the next generation

I have taught at the Regional Maritime University in Ghana, working with early- to mid-career translators and language professionals as they build their footing in international and institutional work.
